PRESCHOOL DAILY SCHEDULE

Our Preschool and School Age Program believes that children learn through play. Children construct their knowledge by touching, tasting, smelling, watching, listening, thinking, and doing. Our child-centered curriculum encourages decision-making, autonomy, and social competence. The exploration of music and movement, science and nature, families and culture, art and drama, and language and numbers are integrated into the Preschool day. Indoor and outdoor activities are planned according to individual needs and developmental differences.

• 8:30 am - 8:45 am Students arrive for the day.
• 8:50 am - Morning Circle Time including: Weather, Calendar, Counting, ABCs, Patterning, Colors, Shapes, Songs, Music, Finger Plays, and Rhymes.
• 9:30 am - Phonics and Free Play Time
• 9:45 am - Stories and Music and Movement: Children gather in classroom or as one large group to hear stories, read and to sing together.
• 10:10 am - Outside Free Play (weather permitting)
• 10:30 am - Snack Time for children. (Healthy Crackers and 100% Fruit Juice)
• 10:45 am - Activities and materials that enrich our morning curriculum are available for children to explore individually and in small groups.
• 11:00 am - Children play in outdoor Preschool playground (weather permitting).
• 11:20 am - Children get ready to go home.
• 11:30 am - Dismissal Time.

PRESCHOOL / HALF DAY FUN ACTIVITIES FOR SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Show and Tell, Field Trips, Teddy Bear Picnics, Water Days, Tea Parties, Fun Fridays, Planting Seeds, Outdoor Sports, Cooking Projects, Public Speaking, Puppet Shows, Magic Shows, Jumpers, Pretend/Role Plays, Sharing Days, Picnic in the Park, Celebrate Birthdays/Holidays/Cultural Celebrations, and Year End Graduation Parties.
